Adjacent to apartments for rent in Colorado is a vacant lot. Kids play soccer there. Apartment residents put some old couches there to use as a gathering place. Some even started a community garden there for the residents of the apartments for rent Colorado.
Sara Davis, program manager for former Mayor John Hickenlooper’s Mile High million tree-planting initiative got a call from a friend telling her about the vacant lot. After her investigation it was determined that the lot needed to be turned into a park.
Monday they’ll help break ground on the park — which will offer a much bigger garden, two playgrounds, an artificial turf soccer field, two basketball hoops, picnic tables and, more shade trees according to https://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2011/06/new_east_colfax_park.php.
“Within a couple square blocks, there are a lot of people who need to have something positive in their lives to make them feel like valued members of a much larger community,” Davis says. “This park is a great way to start instilling that feeling for them.”
